Ovechkin is going to win the award, barring a major upset. He led this team from last place to first, into the playoffs, and led the league in scoring, goals, shots, etc.
The guys on Versus talked about the candidates last night, but as I recall, before the season ended the talk was whether or no Alex should win if the Caps didn’t make the playoffs, not about anything else. Well, the Caps *did* make the playoffs, so it’s a moot point. I suspect we’re going to need to purchase a hand-truck so Alex can haul all of his loot from the awards ceremony…
