TV News 2.0

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

This is not a big deal. It will be good for the networks and good for CNN and consumers won’t mind or, frankly, even notice. It is no different than CNN making a news widget and having it carried on ESPN or Yahoo or AOL aggregating up another network’s content and carrying it within their news channels. It is frankly shocking that it has taken this long to come about. Don’t be afraid CBS - go for it!

They Won it For Abe!

Way to go! It’s back to DC and Verizon Center for game 6 on Friday night. Wear your white; come on out; and be loud and  proud.

Kudos to Caron Butler. He played a great game and when the game was on the line, he went strong to the hoop and didn’t settle for a jump shot. THAT is NBA playoff  basketball.

No One is More Deserving Than Bruce

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

We are blessed to have such a straightforward, authentic and good man as Coach Boudreau be our coach. He had a remarkable season - leading us to 94 points, a Division championship and a playoff spot - when there didn’t appear to be any hope of a successful season when he took over the team.

He was always positive. He loved the talent that we had amassed. He saw the youth we had as a positive and he is so in love with the game of hockey that every day was a “great day”.

He is a coach to lead our young team over the long term. He is aggressive, creative, honest and fair and he has certainly paid his dues. I give kudos to General Manager George McPhee for hiring Bruce and placing him in our Hershey affiliate and then having the courage to tap Bruce as our interim and then coach for the year and then getting him re-signed for a long period of time.

I can think of no coach who did a better job that Bruce this year in the NHL. Can you?

Future is Brighter

Karl Alzner just won the Player of the Year award from the Western Hockey League. He is projected as a Top 2 D man in the NHL. He is a leader and a winner and he has a great personality. Check out who else has won this award in this league.

The future continues to look bright for us as we draft and develop our players well.
