Future is Brighter

Karl Alzner just won the Player of the Year award from the Western Hockey League. He is projected as a Top 2 D man in the NHL. He is a leader and a winner and he has a great personality. Check out who else has won this award in this league.

The future continues to look bright for us as we draft and develop our players well.

Another stud to add to the line-up…in the place we need it most!

If I were the coach (and thankfully I’m not), I’d likely pair Alzner with Poti and let them play together 5-on-5 and on the PK (Alzner probably isn’t going to be a power play guy at the NHL level, whereas Green, Poti and Eminger can do that). Having Alzner eat up minutes with Poti helps out Green and Morrisonn, freeing them up for more power play and PK duties respectively.

    That’s awesome

I was impressed with Alzner during rookie camp last year. He was smart with the puck and physical as well. He just keeps getting better, and I can’t wait until he makes the Caps’ lineup!
