Zero Game Winners

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

This round goes to Google; no other way to say it. They won. It reminds me of Intel in the semiconductor space in the 90’s or Microsoft in software. The Google cash machine is so big and so rich that it can do whatever it wants. AOL had this kind of momentum as well for about a four year period in the ISP business as we garnered a  majority of the share of new ads onto the internet and then developed a second revenue stream of advertising.

Google needs to focus on its second act now. They need to make the right acquisitions to bring in new talent and also crisply enter new markets that generate revenues that are outside of advertising and search.

Sheila Johnson, Filmanthropist

I went to see the new documentary entitled ”A Powerful Noise” last night. The film is produced by Sheila Johnson and it is excellent. It portrays the work of three ordinary women who are doing extraordinary work to help their communities. Here is the link to the website on the film and information about CARE. The film can be seen locally at the SILVERDOCS Film Festival in June.
