Alana Beard is a very talented player; a role model to many woman; and a leader on the court. She has become the foundational player upon which we will build the team.
We are all hopeful that she can get healthy and the team can get out to a fast start this year. We will be patient with the rebuild and craft the team around her skill set.
The Mystics without Beard are like the Caps without Ovechkin…simply too essential in both cases. Hope whatever is ailing her hamstring isn’t major and I also hope she’s all the way back from that shoulder injury from last season – she was really in pain.
