these votes where pretty soft. . .I am a big Laich fan and was more than happy to see him catch fire this year, but I would like his defense and face offs pick up. But I do love how hes become a great second-third line and specialty teams player. Watching him with Semin and Fedorov/Backstrom in the middle was incrediable that will be a very productive two way line, hint hint Ted, sign Fedorov so I can order my #91 jersey before the opener! :)

To Mike L, That is good thinking, but I think you forgot about the most exciting line in the latter part of the season...The Fourth Line. Bradley, Brashear and Whomever they need to fill the spot. B and B are without a doubt the toughest, scrappiest guys out there. They fight for every inch and 99 out of 100 times, they that inch. While we are talking about fight in a player, is Cooke coming back? I sure hope so. 2008-2009 season is gonna be great. See you all then.

I *think* I sent you an e-mail wishing Peter well in pursuit of a Cup (and for you to keep Olie) but completely forgotten who the Caps got in exchange for him until you posted.

Brooks had a career breakout year... hopefully he'll be a Cap for some time, and I hope he breaks the 20 goal barrier again and again. I don't see that happening, but I still want him on this team.

If the Caps forwards are healthy, we would likely be able to have three amazing scoring lines:

1) Ovechkin-Kozlov-Backstrom
2) Semin-Nylander-Fehr
3) Clark-Laich-Fedorov (if Fedorov signs up again, could also be Fleischmann)

Now that's a 3rd line for you, a 30 goal guy, a 20 goal guy and a former MVP... :)
