Monday, May 19th, 2008There is now so much user-generated content and so much inventory. The big ad networks drive all of the sales and the power has shifted to the advertiser NOT the media itself. This is a unique phenomenon. Social networking inventory doesn’t respond very well. Jason Calacanis is correct. The industry should look at this inventory as a mini front door to drive traffic to inventory that responds well and that carries a higher and more respected CPM from advertisers.
Euro vs. the Dollar
Monday, May 19th, 2008Here is another sign things are tough for our economy. Check out the strength of the euro vs. the dollar. This is unacceptable and will at least keep people in the States this summer on vacation. I know we as a family are staying stateside this summer.
World Championship of Hockey
Monday, May 19th, 2008Thanks to WCSN.com, I was able to watch a lot of the games on my laptop or desktop PC and I liked what I saw.
The “Washington Line” for the Russian National team was outstanding scoring 37 points during the tournament and helping Russia to win the gold medal with an overtime victory over Canada. Alex Semin played great in the final as well scoring two goals. And Alex Ovechkin was named a first team All Star for the tournament.
Also, Mike Green played very well and was also named a first team All Star for the tournament for the Canadian National team.
Sami Lepisto played well as did Nicklas Backstrom.
Now these players have an off season. I hope they get some rest; reflect on the positives from the past nine months of hockey; and come back healthy, rested and rejuvenated in September. They all made us proud.
