Youth or experience?
Pittsburgh or Detroit?
I believe this final will be a classic. Tell me who you think wins and why in less than 25 words. Thank you.

Wings have a great D core and plenty of experience, they won’t be shaken at any time. Wings in 6.
Pittsburgh, because Ovechkin said so…
Wings Win. Because they built their team the same way the Caps are building their team. Next year Caps Win!
Detroit in 5. Pitt has yet to face _anyone_ like the Wings (if only the Flyers had played that poorly against _us_). -JW
Pittsburgh in 6 because they are a better team then many may think. Youth with a nice mix of veterans (kind of like how the Caps will be next season – please re-sign Fedorov!!) Plus they have a better fan base. The Igloo will be rockin’ but the Joe will be a virtual ghost town. Either way, it will be one of the best finals in a long, long time!!!!
Detroit will prevail, but it will be a GREAT series. Why? There are lots of “names” in the series and ther will be some amazing play. But as much as I would love to say youth … I belive the HockeyTown experience will prove more valuable in the long run.
Wings in 6… mostly because if I have to constantly watch TV commercials of ‘Sid the Kid’ hoisting The Cup all next year, I’ll puke!!
Red Wings, because of the Former Cap Factor:

Who? Pittsburgh.
Why? Malkin, Fleury, Crosby, Gonchar, Hossa, Sykora, Malone, Gill.
Detroit easily. Crosby is over-rated and the Eastern Conference really wasn’t much this season. Pittsburgh may win one game.
Judging by the 2008 playoffs thus far, I think that would be a question best posed to the referees.
Detroit. Seven Swedes. Easy.
Detroit 4-1. The Wings have the experience of being there before, and many more rings in the dressing room. Plus they have Nick Lidstrom.
Let’s see…young team who had a cupcake run, or veteran team which got hardened even further by a gritty run? Heart says Detroit in five, head says Detroit in seven, and even then I suspect I’ll be eating crow in a couple of weeks.
Red Wings will succeed. That experience Defense is calm and collected.
Detroit – defense wins championships.
Detroit in six. Youth is great for speed, marketing, potential, future franchise value, etc. Playoffs aren’t about potential, only about now. Detroit has better line depth, diversified scoring, playoff exper., stellar d, lots of true two way players, chemistry from years playing together, and Holmstrom will be an absolute fixture in front of Fleury’s eyes – most overlooked, underated guy.
Penguins. Easier road to finals, more dynamic talent, Although Osgood has been there and won it, I still believe more in Fleury. Pens in 6.
Detroit wins, Zetterberg will be Conn Smythe Winner, but it takes all 7 games to decide it.
Pittsburgh (ugh) will win because it’s youth is it’s core, and it’s core is super-star caliber.
Red wings win becasue I cant root for Pittsburg any longer!! GO CAPS!!!
The Wings win, because I hate the Pens more! I hope, I hope!
I think Detroit will prevail. There’s enough youth and play-off savvy on the Wings to overcome pure talent, and special teams. Detroit in 6.
Wings
Wings are better defensively and have more offence from more people than Fleurys seen, BUT Pittsburgh’s best player is Gary Bettman
No Octopi thrown in this series in a 4-0 Sweep for steeltown.
Experience…..sorry but Pitts. doesn’t have the defense to contain Det. Malkin was stopped against philly…i hope we crush the Pens next year Ted!
I pick Detroit. Experience, Discipline, Face-off proficiency will lead to puck possesion, and a Superior Defensive Unit(D-men) will make the difference. For the Pens to win, they must take a page from the Flyers, crash the net and be very aggressive.
