This year there were four candidates who would have won in a normal year (Kane, Backstrom, Toews and Corey Price in Montreal). But like 2006 (with Ovie, Crosby and Phaneuff) only one can win... Now it's up to Nick to prove the voters wrong and be a better player than Patrick Kane... which will be tough as Kane is a helluva player. But if he can take that as the challenge, then watch out. Oh, and in 2009, the Caps already have a preseason pick for the Calder in Karl Alzner...this kid is going to be dynamite.
