Tim Russert will be terribly missed. As we noted, Sundays will never be the same.
Have you ever seen a journalist accorded such respect by the overall media?
Here is the shout-out Tim gave the Washington Capitals on his Meet the Press show right before the Pennsylvania primaries.
It was so strange that afternoon hearing that Tim Russert died as one of the great things about Friday was that he would be on WTOP at 7:50 AM to talk about issues of the day, not always about news items but also the Buffalo Bills, the Caps, the Nats, etc. He would also indicate what was coming up on Meet the Press that Sunday. Such a shame he died so young. I remember back in 1998 when the Caps made it to the Finals, and there, on Meet the Press is Tim, with Luke standing there in his blue Caps jersey posing with the Stanley Cup.
He will be missed.
I feel for his family!!
The news of Tim Russert’s passing on Friday really upset me. I never met the man, but felt like I knew him. He seemed like a very down-to-earth guy. I watched his son this morning on the Today show. I’ve heard Russert speak with great pride about his son. After seeing this interview, I now understand why. He will be terribly missed. RIP.
