Keep Your Fingers Crossed

I am hopeful we can keep our team together. We have lots of players to re-sign and that is our priority. We really want to focus on our young core players and try to keep our team intact. As I noted, many players or their agents look at free agency as a tool – which is their right – to get the best deal for their individual player. We need to be respectful of that process and the players’ wishes while also taking a look at the big picture of our overall team payroll and how the deals age with other contracts coming up in the future, etc. It is like a big moving jigsaw puzzle.

We are also managing the cap space we have. I am pleased to say that we have the ability to sign the players that want to play here. We are being aggressive and we believe in our players so I am hopeful that we can be successful in signing our players ASAP. Time will tell. Wish us luck.

Giles, throughout Ted’s ownership the Caps have never won a playoff series. Why would other owners want to follow Ted’s path?

  2. Ted you have brought hope to this Caps team like no other!!I was born in Brandywine MD,Im in florida now…Anyhow we used to drive to the old landover building cheering for the caps of old..I got a free ticket to the new building in DC what a great building. Owners should really look at your path and take note!As for getting new players (July 1st),Management should look at B.Rolston..he could really help on the first and second PP..he kills penns also…As for goaltending..UMMM resign Huet..I would love for you to keep Olie, but he has a hot head, and a lot of pride,I know cause i would play at the piney orchard rink..Great guy.I vet on defence would be nice..Brian Cambell would be good but for how much?? To much!Im sure.Well hope you have a great day ill look foward to your comments!Giles

  3. THANK YOU! Happy to hear & see that you & George got the Green job done. Good luck on Huet and Laich. I hope to see them next season still rockin’ the red!

  4. Keeping Green was step 1, landing Huet is step 2, then all of the other dominos should fall into place. I suspect the only player who won’t be back is Matt Cooke. Hopefully he’ll find a nice western conference team to play for, as having watched him up close, I can tell he’s no fun to play against…

  5. Hip hip huet, Green is signed! We are all keeping our fingers crossed that everyone signs. Keep up the great work and can’t wait until Training Camp…

  6. Thanks for the hard work Ted and co.
Your effort is not unappreciated, and I look forward to the ticker tape one day where we can all celebrate the fruits of days like today!
