It takes a long time – no one knows nothing really - but it is good to know that we have ‘optionality’ and we can develop our goaltenders in the right way. It will be exciting to watch how our goaltenders progress but I also have a lot of faith in Theodore and Johnson as a tandem. And my bet is that Brent Johnson will have a great year between the pipes this season.

I am looking forward to it… I think Johnny will be fine in net in the 25-30 games he plays in. Like with all back-ups, he’s going to need regular starts to stay sharp. What would be nice is if the Caps would move out into first early on and make the division race a non-race by January so we don’t have to go down a stretch where Theo starts 17 in a row. I mean, I like Jose, but he’s not Martin Brodeur or Grant Fuhr. Even the great ones (Hasek, Kolzig) need a break now and again…
