  1. It looks like the team is coming together very nicely. I remember going to Hershey in, I believe 1981, where I watched the Caps play a pre-season game when Scott Stevens was a rookie. I was in the front row about 3 seats from the Caps bench. Stevens laid someone out with a trade-mark hit but when he came back to the bench he was moaning and groaning. Guess he took a shot as well (but the other guy definitely got the worst of it). Did he miss a shift? No way, he was right out there hitting people on the next shift. Anyway, I’m getting the feeling Alzner may be that type of player. If he puts it together this year (like Backstrom last year) we could really have a fine year. You have to love the optimism at this time of year.

  2. Excellent job by the Caps Management team getting all of our guys back into the fold!! I’ve been a Caps fan for over 25 years. I was at Piney Orchard at 1:30am when the Caps returned after beating Buffalo to advance to the Stanley Cup final. I’ve been through the years. I have coached ice hockey at all levels and have coached high school hockey for many years… so I know the game. There is something about this group of players that is different. I can’t put my finger on it, but I think this group is special. I cannot wait for the puck to drop next season!!!
