  1. Still mourning the loss of Olie, personally (less as a goalie, more as a great guy). Will have moved on by the time the season starts–I know, I know, get over it! I hope the organization plans some greatness for Olie’s hockey retirement. He gave us the best years of his life and a lot of memories. I’m with Jeff Hancher’s one reason, though!

  2. I think the league was trying to set up a game for TV (Canada maybe) where all three Calder finalists are going to be playing. The goaltender issue makes the drama go up even more.

Huet played well down the stretch, but while some of that was him, some of that was also the defense of the Caps as a team. Towards the end of the year they began to “get it”. The Caps, right now, may have the best set of defensemen in the Eastern conference…

  3. I will be going under intensive booing training. I hope to be booing at 140db by opening night.

  4. Ironic to say the least. I think we got the best goalie this off season for a number of reasons, but to only list one, he wants to play here.

  5. Eh, the last time he played us on the opposition, he gave up 5 goals in an OTL (4 goals to Ovechkin). We’ll see if it’s his late season form or his visiting team form that shows up for the beginning of this season.

  6. ted great news caps in los angeles. i will be there. i hope sombrero-guy makes the trip out here for good luck

  7. Well now, let’s make Mr. Huet sorry he took the money (and term) and ran to the Windy City! I predict a final score of 6-0 with chicken wings for everybody. Only 86 days until we open in Atlanta and one more than that to open at home. Let’s Go Caps!

  8. Nice ” we ” need to exact some revenge for that 5 nothing clunker in Chicago near the end of last season…..

  9. caps have had good luck against huet in the past.this should be fun.with any luck we’ll get to play against ollie in the 2nd home game.
