Our country has an aging and decrepit infrastructure. Our roads, bridges and our levee systems are all in desperate need of repair and upgrading. These issues must be placed with a higher priority for any new President in his first term.
Imagine if the levees broke in downtown DC. Imagine seeing some of our most historic buildings underwater. Think that would make infrastructure upgrading a priority for our lawmakers?
How could I forget?! LETS GO CAPS!!!
Teddy, Oh, I could’nt agree more. Plus, think about the jobs it would create, laborers to engineers and then some!! For example, in NYC Con Edison needs to upgrade the whole underground infrastructure. Yes, the next President needs to start maintaining his HOME!!!! It’s a multitasking position!!
I think when hurricane Fran came through back in the 1990s, there was water 6 inches or so deep along the streets on the Mall. The good news is the planners who built the city knew that the land was swamp land originally, so they put the important buildings and locations on hills, and built large sets of steps up to them.
Plain and simple, they don’t vote so they don’t get taken care of in favor of those who do vote.
