It would be great for us to achieve a milestone – 12,000 season tickets – or what it would take to bring in an expansion team into a new market. Check out this article for information on our success in selling tickets this summer.
Business is very healthy for us right now and we are very grateful. Season tickets are our life blood so if you are considering it, please close on your purchase ASAP. Also, we are at 91 percent renewals. I am hopeful that if you have season tickets and haven’t renewed, you will do so now as well. We have demand and I know we can sell the tickets and we want to be supportive of our existing season ticket holders.
I watched game 7 of our playoff series against the Flyers last night on the NHL channel. It was so amazing to see that sea of red in the stands. I am hopeful we can keep the spirit alive and recapture that magic throughout next season and it all starts with our season ticket holders. Thank you so much. Go Caps!
Happy to hear you’re at 91%. I was partial plan holder last year … and am now a proud season ticket holder. Thrilled with all the signings this summer and last season. Sad to see Olie go, but that was his choice. Hope when he’s done in TB we retire 37. Wish it was Oct 10 today!!!
Glad to hear that the VC will be fuller at the start of this season than it was at the start of last season. As much as I would love to be a plan holder, it won’t be happening for a while. But I was curious if the Caps were still going to be able to run any “Student Rush” nights with the increase in plan sales. Those games were primarily the ones I attended last year and looked forward to it this season.
“If you Build it….They will come”…
It’s great to see that the place will be packed all year. The first big test to see if the demand is there is Monday Oct 13, when Vancouver is in town. Also Tuesday Oct 28 for Nashville.
Newer western teams (Nashville, Phoenix, Columbus, Minnesota) , and non-traditional Canadian teams (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Ottawa) usually haven’t had big crowds in the area, even back in the old days in Landover (altough, for some reason games vs. Winnipeg used to sell really well… no idea why.)
As for my tickets… I’ll stop buying Caps tickets when The Hockey Gods tell me it’s time to take my seat at the Montreal Forum in the Sky…
We’re from Richmond, so although we don’t buy season tickets, we usually get a package of 9-10 games (usually division rivals). My concern is still that often-empty middle ring of seats at Verizon! I know most of those seats are sold to businesses, but I always picture them full of screaming, jersey-wearing fans. Any way that rethinking some of those sections would help you reach 12,000?
91% renewal rate is great for this area as there are so many transients. With major corporations and Gov employees constantly relocating, I would say that is a VERY GOOD number.
awesome news
so excited
we need rock the red nights every home game
those ”red outs” were unreal
I wont be getting my season tickets cause I had to relocate to South Carolina for work. The only good thing is that im 5 minutes from the Charleston Colusium and we have season tickets to the Stingrays. Its the farm team but its the Caps farm team and ill take what I can get. Ill be going to 2 out of the three games you play this year in Carolina and were coming to DC for atleast 5 games this year. Im trying to convince the wife that we should get the 11 game packedge but she says I only get two vacations without her. You know Ted it may help if the owner told her how much he needes the die hard fans there as much as possible she might give in.LOL
this is good news indeed. i was in dc for a few days last week and went to the july 24th event at the verizon center. it was first rate and run very well with many enthusiastic employees helping even more enthusiastic potential ticket buyers. mike green must have signed over a thousand autographs, and was very congenial and friendly even at the end of the night when we got his signature. well done ted and staff. best of luck reaching 12,000.—regards— expo(back in los angeles}
