Caps Fans are Everywhere

Last week I found myself in Chicago with time to kill so I jumped on an architectural boat ride of the city. I sat down upstairs with my family and as we were set to leave, a woman entered the boat wearing a red Caps t-shirt. She immediately recognized me and yelled, ”Hey Ted! I am rocking the red and flying the flag in the second city!”

Later that night in the hotel elevator, a couple was aside us and as we were leaving the elevator the gentleman said, “Let’s Go Caps!”

Yesterday, in the Tampa airport, the baggage handler said to me, ”I just moved from DC. I am glad we got Olie down here but I still think the Caps are the class of the division.” And just now, as I received room service, the server said to me, ”Good luck next season.” It’s truly an amazing experience to see how the Caps have become so well known around the country. And we have fans everywhere. Let’s go Caps!

  1. I’ve really enjoyed reading these caps fan sightings over the summer, here and on the caps message board. I’m actually in Baltimore, and I have only seen one “rock the red” t-shirt walking out of a gas station. it kinda makes me sad that all people in Baltimore care about is the O’s and ravens. Anyway, I’ve been watching the caps since I was 8 or 9 years old(now 23), and I have never been more proud to be a caps fan.

Absolutley wonderful job you have done Ted with the Caps. In my opinion, there is only one thing left to do…

BRING THE STANLEY CUP TO THE DISTRICT

    LETS GO CAPS!!!

  3. ted–cap fans are indeed everywhere. i am in los angeles, but much more impressive, a buddy of mine who now lives in seattle has season tix in dc for the caps.–thats a devoted fan!!

  4. And don’t forget here in Brooklyn and all over New York State!!!! LETS GO CAPS!!!!

  5. I too am a Caps fan in Chicago. I have worked for Kimpton Hotels the past 2 years moving from DC to Denver, CO and now to Chicago. I wish I had run into you like some of those other fans. That would have made my week! Keep up the good work. I’ll be rootin come October.

  6. Here’s one—I was deployed to an Air Force base in Southwest Asia recently, and, 6,000 miles from home, found another Caps fan by accident. I brought a red Caps t-shirt with me (see “how are you rocking the red this summer?”), and I showed a snapshot of it to one of our commanders. He turned out to be a Caps fan too, and ended up borrowing the shirt. What are the odds? Very cool.
