I am floored. Joey Chestnut went from 141k views to 225k views in one day in less than 24 hours! Amazing trajectory on the web as noted. Shouldn’t this kind of audience be viewing a world class highly-produced documentary?

You should look into making a world class highly-produced documentary about Joey Chestnut.
Sorry Ted, but I understand where you are going with this, but you have to understand that the attention span of today’s society is about a nanosecond. Most people would rather watch 3 minutes of some guy shoveling french fries down his throat on youtube rather than spending $10 buck to watch an 90 minute documentary in the theaters.
With home theaters, and services like netflix there isn’t any need to go to the theaters any more. If the movie industry had any sense whatsoever they would start releasing movies in a HD digital format to a PayPerView video on demand website. That is the future, not paying outrages money to sit in run down movie theaters with uncomfortable chairs listening to the jerk three rows behind you talk on his cell phone.
