Being a preseason favorite means absolutely nothing. And if you think about it, regular-season success and even a postseason win or two may even be a bit overrated as well. (Just ask the New England Patriots.)
It’s not exactly vexatious to be getting such pleasant press in August: I’ll take the rave reviews any day of the week with a smile on my face. But I’d much prefer to be seeing the scribes saying same in June.
Kevin Allen is so right… and I agree Montreal is probably the team to beat, but the Caps are the team that will do it.
