Agree with Travis. Pens have almost as much 2-4 ticket blocks on stub hub for the game in Pitt as does stub hub for the game here. Capitals ticket office seems to feed tickets to the brokers first rather than waiting for the fans. This is from a six yr season ticket holder.

I guess the only things we as fans can do, is to make Pens fans feel more unwelcome than they do in Philly :)

Not only are his arguments moot and pointless, he doesn't know how to spell.

I lived in Pittsburgh the past four years and the Caps need to do a better job of making a presence known IN Pittsburgh. I was at the game where the Caps won in the shootout and it was a very special moment for us fans. Why more Caps fans couldn't share in that is beyond me. Pittsburgh has some of the most arrogant, albeit loyal, fans in the country. While I feel that our prices for seats are, for some reason getting better (is it that I'm making more money? I don't know) Pittsburgh tickets were always cheaper. But, again, that's what you get with an arena that's ancient and one that is about ready to fall down. I fear what tickets will be like for the new arena.

The fact remains that Penguins fans -- and any other fans, for that matter -- will still be able to get tickets to any game they want in the Verizon Center. I've been down from Pittsburgh for a ton of games and I'll be down for a ton more.

You may have a few more red shirts in the stands, but there's no way you'll ever be able to keep the opposing fans completely out of the building.

I was at the March Pens-Caps game and the cheers were easily as loud when the Pens scored as when the Caps scored. I'd agree that at least 35-40% of the people there were rooting for the Pens, which does make a game at the Verizon Center more like a home game for the Pens then anywhere but the Igloo!

First of all, thank you for that great visual of the Red in the Arena. I remember how it was, but that was an awesome shot.

As for what Sid is doing in that photo accompanying the Pitts. article...well, I don't want to speculate, but Sid has a reputation for going down...er...diving... during games.

Of course, Sid's team owner, Mario, should be thankful there were no rules against diving when he was playing as he used to go down like he had been shot when he was touched by a stick. I still remember one game when he and Jeff Halpern went into the corner, and Halpern's stick touched Mario on the arm. Mario crumpled and the ref (I think it was Paul Stewart) said to him "Get up!" I couldn't hear it, but I could see it from my old seats behind the goal.

I think Mario always had that fear when he played against the Caps...always thinking that Bob Gould might come off the bench at any time. To this day, I bet Bob isn't allowed in the Pens arena...

Don't worry, I already bought tickets on ebay for $40 each for the March 8 game from one of the Capitals "fans". Pens fans will still be strongly represented.

Great Article...I love the idea that the author doesn't take into account that there are 6 premium games and they are on weekends with fans who will travel. Duh, business move on Ted's part. Let them pay more. I have my season tickets on my dining room table right this very minute. I don't care what that guy is rambling on about. The Caps are a big draw no matter who they play, Ted is just trying to capitalize on the $$$. Can you blame him? Oh and to the author of the article, who do you see all over NHL.COM everyday in ads and articles and stats??? Oh, not Sidney? Oh, Alex. That's right, whine about that Crosbo. Thanks for the cool goodies in the ticket package Ted. They will be worn with pride.
