Here is the news release about this year’s television schedule.
To translate, Comcast will broadcast 73 games on Comcast SportsNet or Comcast SportsNet Plus. Fifty games will be seen in HD.
Seven games will be shown on Versus.
To date, we have two games that won’t be seen on TV because of some exclusivity issues - Versus vs. Comcast SportsNet – but we are working on that issue right now. So 80 of our 82 games will be seen on TV. Last season, 81 of our 82 games were seen on TV. This year, more games will be in HD than last year and more games will be on Comcast SportsNet vs. Comcast SportsNet Plus. Overall I am pleased with the schedule. Go Caps!
I’ll be happy if FIOS TV finally gets NHL Center Ice on board. Having it on the television is much more schedule-flexible than NHL Center Ice online.
Glad to see some more away games in HD!
Cool! Comcast does a great job with the games. Joe and Locker are awesome at calling a game.
LETS GO CAPS!
If only all 80 were in HD. Hockey above all is gorgeous in HD. I think if I remember correctly, all of the Home games are in HD, and the road games are iffy. Of course since we are all at the game, the road games are the games we would love to see in HD even more, but I understand it is more of a technical challenge. You would think the league would just do a shared equipment type thing, and have a set of HD hardware at each arena, and let the networks all pull from those cameras. Just a thought, probably impossible to implement based on the current environment.
I’m glad that more away games will be in HD this season, because I’ll be at most of the home games in 3D. (New season ticket holder, hurray!)
Indeed there are 2 games with NO TV next to them, but…they’re both HOME GAMES!
Folks, if you want to see those games, go buy the tickets, get your red on, and come down to the Phone Booth!
Admittedly, neither Nashville nor Florida are going to win the Cup, nor are they great teams, but I’m gonna see those games from section 421…
