I think he didn’t realize that the Pens stole the “White Out” idea from Winnipeg.
TRUE Caps fans don’t want any Pens’ fans there…it makes the Phonebooth smell funny. Hopefuly…HOPEFULLY…the red jerseys will outnumber yellow & black this year…by a LOT!!!!
Envy, being one of the seven deadlies, is an ugly thing. What he realizes is that fans of the Caps will buy the six packs because they want to see the Caps. Fans of the Pens, Hawks, and Wings won’t buy the packs because they only want to see their own team.
Sure there are a few hundred tickets up on StubHub and such, but that won’t compare to 18,000 plus Caps fans.
And there’s nothing wrong with coming out to see the Caps only when they’re winning if you’re not a die-hard. If you’re a Caps fan, come on out and Rock the Red. The louder the better.
Let’s see….There’s been an increase in Season ticket holders. The Capitals have some of the most exciting players in the league.
Obviously the author didn’t watch any of the Caps-Flyers games or he listened to the NBC commentators. Verizon Center was a sea of red and will continue to do so this season.
It is really a shame this guy as a newspaper writer has to use his position to citizen something he knows little about! I’m attending Springfield College in MA but I hope to be a proud member of the sea of red as much as possible! The atmosphere in the arena and the Caps fast paced style make it great to watch! I can’t wait to see what kind of a year Ovechkin, Backstrom, and the rest of the team will have! I hope and root for the best!

Just wanted to thank you and your season ticket holders Ted. Because of them, I was able to get tickets to the March 8th game between the Pens and the Caps at Stub Hub. I will be there in Pens jersey and it will be a glorious time
Hey Ted, the pot is calling the kettle black. All you have to do is look at the Caps various internet forums and see how many posts have to do with Crosby and the Pens. I’m sure you are aware of the Caps boards, especially the official one at washingtoncaps.com….the one that folks with western PA addresses aren’t allowed to post on???
Trust me, Ted. We aren’t obsessed with the Caps. In fact, if it weren’t for AO, we wouldn’t even know that they exist.

Mr. Leonsis: Right on – what an ignorant snot. Caps fans are the best and getter more numerous by the day. I can’t wait for October 11th…LETS GO CAPS!!!! Rest assured I will be in RED for the games I atttend and watch from my seats in Section 103.
For the record ,,,Caps fans do not hate Pittsburgh Penguin fans / team.. we just dont like’em! lol
