Here is Corey’s analysis of the Washington Capitals. There is not much to argue with here. We all hope to do better this season than we did last season. Go Caps!
The assessment is spot on, but the Caps still have to drop some salary in order to get under the cap (although if Pothier can’t go, it’s mostly taken care of). Would love to see some additional Cap space for a later in the year pick up…
Still and all, the Caps should be a 105-110 point team, win the Southeast going away and contend for the top seed in the East. As for a Stanley Cup, the Caps could be a favorite to win the East, but there are better teams out west (Detroit most notably)… that will change as the Wings age, but a run to the finals would not surprise me (and I’d certainly enjoy it!)
I agree that this was excellent reporting. It was a fair reflection of the past season and what is to come! Additionally, it was very well organized! I can’t wait until hockey starts up again!!
