Happy Birthday Alex and Congrats

What a wonderful night for Alex and a great thank you from the city and the DC Sports Alliance. Check out this blog post from Mike Vogel and the video from Caps TV.

I cannot wait for the season to start and we can all forget past years and focus on this year. We have lots of unfinished business to take care of and with Alex’s leadership and his example of coming to camp lean and hungry, it will soon be “game on.” I hope to see many of you at the Rookie game today against Philadelphia. Go Caps!

Irrational

Wow. Google stock is now at $414 per share down from a high of $747 per share in the last year.

That means the company now has a market cap of less than $100 billion.

Yet the company still generates more than $17 billion in annual revenues and will earn more than $4 billion of profit, 25 times earnings or so. Yikes. What a meltdown for everyone.

Gulp

Here is a very insightful and a very well-written analysis of what is happening in our world.

I have been predicting that the elevator had a few more floors down left to go. I think we have another year of it. Hang on tight.

I hope every industry, including professional sports, internalizes that we are living in a new world order. That the economics are different and that what we thought was true before is false today.

IndieWIRE Covers the SnagFilms News

Variety covered the story; Hollywood Reporter covered the story; and indieWIRE had to cover the story. Indiewire has complete editorial say in what it covers. We don’t get involved at all in their judgment, copy or point of view. Indiewire is growing and will soon have its first makeover in many years. We are making investments to grow the property and we at SnagFilms are grateful that we are in synch – organically - with people that love and help celebrate all that is good about indie films.
