Watching Sat. and Sun. training camp was great. The guys never giving up one inch on the drills, checking, fighting for the puck and even bleeding during the scrimmages was amazing to watch. You can tell the commitment out on the ice, guys fighting for jobs. My only wish is that the local news (NBC, ABC, CBS) would do something on these guys more frequently than a ten second spot. I can't wait until they see the Verizon Center and the sea of red again during regular season play. GO CAPS.

I have been attending Caps training camps for many years and I have to agree with Ted this is the best camp I have seen in terms of how the practices have been conducted, the tempo and the skill of the players. I am very excited for the upcoming season.

Ted, absolutely spot-on. I'd hate to make the 'cuts and or trades' that we know have to be made. We can't keep 'em all. The Caps have been the water-cooler talk in my office these days -- not the 'Skins. Of course it helps that I have an office load of Caps stuff.....

I wish I could get out of this office and make it to practice, because you make it sound like so much fun. I agree we are quite loaded with talent this year, and I think the personalities fit together well too. Very exciting time to be a Capitals fan!

Ted, this is the deepest Caps team I have *ever* seen, even going back to the late 1980s when the Caps were one of the elite teams in the league (who had the misfortune of being elite when the Oiler dynasty was going strong.) There are some tough decisions that are going to have to be made, and some of the players who are on the border line of the team are really good players, guys like Boyd Gordon, Dave Steckel, Sami Lepisto, Chris Bourque, John Erskine, etc.

I don't envy the decisions that George and Bruce have to make, but then again, there at least 25 GMs and head coaches that do envy them.

There is nothing stopping this team from winning the Southeast Division again and the Eastern Conference. The only thing really standing in the way of the Stanley Cup is one of the following: Detroit Red Wings, San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, Calgary Flames....Thankfully, being in the east, the Caps would only have to get past one of these teams to win the Cup. :)
