You Heard It Here First…
Thursday, October 16th, 2008Here is a new word I officially made up. :-) ”Printanthropy” - in the same vein of Filmanthropy - is using print media and newspapers to right a wrong; activate consumer interest and discussion; generate charitable giving; educate an audience; and manage the media outlet as a non-profit civic trust.
That is the future of newspapers. They are in the Printanthropy business and newspapers moguls are now Printanthropists!

Filmanthropy at Its Finest
Thursday, October 16th, 2008Please watch this film. It is a siren call against binge drinking on college campuses in Greek life. This is a very disturbing film and should be mandatory viewing for parents of college age children.

RBS WorldPay and Revolution Money Make a Deal

Enjoy the Game Tonight
Thursday, October 16th, 2008I honestly see tonight as just another game. It is early in the season. Both teams are still finding their legs and perfecting their systems. We are only three games into the season. It is a game to try and garner some points. That is all.
We will have a true rivalry for this generation of our team if/when we meet the Penguins in the playoffs. Rivalries are forged in the playoffs. To date, the Penguins have been the better team as the record is clear. Both teams have been rebuilt via sell-off of older star players and a rebuild through the draft and are now excelling because of a core of great young players. My fondest dream is to have a real rivalry again with the Penguins because that will mean we are in the playoffs and perhaps have gone deep into the playoffs to meet them.
Right now, it is just a game for two points so kick back tonight and enjoy the game. Go Caps!
LA Times on “Haze”
Thursday, October 16th, 2008Here is a good story on Haze; the distribution bottleneck for great films; and how SnagFilms can help breathe life into these ventures.
