An Important Win

That was an important two points last night. We needed a road win against a very talented Dallas team. We can now come home for a few days of home cooking as the Horse Show is over at Verizon Center. We are starting to get healthy too, just in the nick of time.

We have played eight games to date. We would qualify for the playoffs if the season ended today. We have played five games on the road and three games at home.

We have scored a lot of goals but we have let in too many goals. We are not a gelled team yet but we are NOT off to one of our horrid early starts either. And Alex is tied for the league lead in points, Alex Semin, that is.

OK. Hopefully we get D man Tom Poti back this week.  We catch our breath and we work on systems. We play on Tuesday at home and then we go back on the road.

Red Skate on a Real Red Out

Thanks for the nice words. I do believe the Verizon Center rocks and is one of the loudest and best buildings in the league because we have a crazed, proud and loyal fan base.

As an aside, I was in Philadelphia today with family. We went to see the Liberty Bell and while standing and taking a photo, two Flyers fans approached me wearing their Flyers jerseys and introduced themselves. We talked about our rivalry; last year’s playoff series; the season so far; and then we shook hands and went our separate ways. Thanks guys. You were very classy.

Also, Philadelphia is rocking the red this weekend, Phillies red that is. There is a huge fountain near the museums and they were running RED WATER through the fountain. Many buildings were displaying red lights and there were red flags everywhere.
