An Important Win

That was an important two points last night. We needed a road win against a very talented Dallas team. We can now come home for a few days of home cooking as the Horse Show is over at Verizon Center. We are starting to get healthy too, just in the nick of time.

We have played eight games to date. We would qualify for the playoffs if the season ended today. We have played five games on the road and three games at home.

We have scored a lot of goals but we have let in too many goals. We are not a gelled team yet but we are NOT off to one of our horrid early starts either. And Alex is tied for the league lead in points, Alex Semin, that is.

OK. Hopefully we get D man Tom Poti back this week.  We catch our breath and we work on systems. We play on Tuesday at home and then we go back on the road.

  1. Ted,

I agree with Brendan. While I think the video featuring season ticket holders was a great idea, I think the end result leaves a lot to be desired. The video seems to make the mistake of thinking that noise equals excitement. It’s loud, but it fails to pump up the crowd (the purpose of an intro video).

Perhaps you should consider making the “Look How Far We’ve Come” montage the opening video?

  2. That was a tough trip… three games, three time zones, two legitimate Cup contenders as opponents (Phoenix is better, but not there yet.). I would have liked 3 or 4 points, but 2 is good, and getting them from Dallas… well, that’s something.

  3. Hi Ted!

Last night was a huge win, but that’s not why I’m posting a comment. This may sound stupid, and I’m sure there are many people who disagree with me, but the opening video the team has before they take the ice is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. The whole point of the video is to get the team and fans excited, and that video doesn’t do it at all. It seems like something that would be good for between periods, but not to get the crowd excited. I could be in the minority when it comes to this, but I think it would be a good idea to try to come out with something else. Maybe take a poll to see what the fans think? I love the Caps, and I love what you do for this team, but please consider doing something about the video. Thank you!
