We encouraged Alex Ovechkin to be with his family in Russia. We will miss him but he is doing the right thing in the right way. I have lost all of my grandparents and my mom and dad. I have high levels of empathy for how much people miss their closest relatives once they are gone.I hope we can all respect Alex’s privacy and pray for a speedy recovery for his grandfather and for peace of mind for the family. The family and Alex are in our thoughts and prayers.
Ted,
As I have always said… “You are a class Act Sir”. You may remember the first time you heard this from me… It was when you first took over the team. I spotted you in the 400 sec introducing yourself to your new clients “THE FANS”.. Again you have proved me right… Family First! I’m sure Alex will never forget this. I will say it again.
“You are a class Act Sir” Thank You!
Amen Ted. I’ve lost all of my grandparents too, and while I never really knew my mother’s parents that much, I miss them. My dad’s parents were more a part of my life (esp. his mom, I was her first grandchild), and I miss her every day.
Best wishes to AO and his family. I am sure when the time is right, he’ll be back. Those of us here in DC we’ll be saying “He’s back!!!” and around the league they’ll be saying “Oh, *bleep* he’s back!!!”
Its great to see the Caps look after the players as individuals, and not just athletes! Kudo’s to the entire organization! Thoughts and prayers are with Alex and his family.
LETS GO CAPS!!
Family trumps – everything.
Ted, Kudos to you and the organization for how you are supporting Alex and Handling the situation.
Absolutely. Way to take care of your players Ted. He will be a better man when he returns. Your also sending a message to the whole team, that you respect them as people as well.
Please pass along our best wishes to Alex and his family. We all hope his grandfather gets well soon. I hope Alex takes all the time he needs. We will miss him on the ice but family always comes before anything.
