Welcome Mr. President

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Now if we can only get the folks on Wall Street to report to you, we should be all set.

I would view this kind of profit taking and drop in value as a sign that Wall Street and the market think they are “bigger” and outside the reach of the Presidency which is unfortunate.

If this happened in a company, i.e. Wall Street driving down the price of a stock after a new CEO is named; everyone would be flabbergasted and concerned. This would be a sign that the Street doesn’t like the new boss.

What were you guys collectively thinking? You couldn’t allow the feel good buzz to last a day?

As Japers’ Says: Take the Point and Thank You Very Much

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

There was a lot to like last night. We played once again with our full team in place. That was a giant relief as we haven’t played as a full unit for quite some time. We played with energy and we got good goaltending. And we played very well on the penalty kill.

We are NOT on our game yet. We gave up too many shots on goal and we didn’t take enough shots on goal. We didn’t dominate possession of the puck and we took too many penalties. We also didn’t draw enough power play time. I am most troubled that to date, we have let in more goals (36) than we have scored (33). And we have lost three games by a 2-1 score.

With all of that, we get a point and now come home to some home cooking. We have played 11 games to date, seven on the road and only four at home. We now play four of the next five games at home all against Eastern Conference foes. We are now entering the meat of the schedule. We play lots of games in short periods of time and it is now time to build some momentum in front of Red Outs and our passionate fan base.

America - What a Country

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Now is the time to come together as a nation and to get back to work.

No more fighting. No more talking. All sacrifice and dedication and focus to work together to make America a great country once again. Unified and organized to succeed and to redefine the American Dream. America has always been about hard work and about positive outcomes and independence and doing the right thing the right way. It is the shining light in a shadowy world. It is about diversity; youth and promise; energy and passion about Democracy; and a collective will to do good.

We should be proud of ourselves. America has always been about change and about restlessness and fighting status quo. We are - at our heart - revolutionaries and the good fight was fought and won. The better candidate won. Our new President-Elect had a clearer message; a better organization; more resources; better plans; a great use of the web; and an uplifting message that America responded to overwhelmingly!

Both candidates brought honor to the democratic process of electing a President. But now we are no longer Republicans or Democrats, we are Americans. We have elected a new President. He has a mandate and a majority in the Senate and Congress. The country asked for and demanded change and we will now get it. Let us all work together to help make America great again. It feels like a great man once said, “Morning in America”. Wake up now and let us get back to work.
