I for one never had any doubts……..;)
The Caps clearly did it right. When you consider what was obtained in the fire sale vs. what was received, right now it looks like we stole all these prospects and players for nothing. We certainly fleeced the Bruins, in getting what we got from them for Gonchar and Nylander, and Nylander is back here anyway.
We gave up Robert Lang and added Fleischmann. Flash is going to have a nice long career here, and Lang is on his 3rd team since that deal.
The only trade that I’d love to have back from the fire sale was the Mike Grier for Jakub Klepis deal. Not that Klepis is bad, but having Grier on this roster the past 2 seasons would have been nice (although he might have left as a free agent anyway….I do hope he eventually wins a Cup somewhere, as a player that gives his effort every night deserves it.)

Ha!!!! I know the teams success is deserved enough for the rebuild, but you have to love it when the other cities start recognizing. Now deflate the heads boys and figure out the fleecing of a trade you’ll put on the Islanders to give us Tavares tooooooooooo!
