We played a great game for being so short handed. Anaheim has a great team. They are big, fast and tough with two Hall of Fame D men on the roster.
To score six goals is amazing in their barn to boot. It was great to get two points on the toughest of road trips.
But we don’t have good health. Losing Mike Green is problematic on top of not having Fedorov, Semin and Morrisonn as well.
We will just have to tough it out and hope Mike’s injury isn’t serious. Stay tuned for details later today or tomorrow.
Hard to believe we play again tonight in LA. We are in the heart of the season, 15 games in 30 days with nine on the road. Last night’s win was a great way to kick off the road trip but we are short handed and need some reinforcements ASAP.
For those who like the drama and action of penalties, last night was one to watch.
I hated seeing Green go out but we gotta look at the silver lining. It seems that every injury we’ve had pushes the other guys to perform up to their capabilities. I hated seeing Brent go out in Raleigh, but Jose came in and turned aside 3 great ops in Carolina. With OV out a couple weeks back, Flash, Semin, Green and others seemed to pick up the slack. As Semin heals these past couple, Nic and OV have returned to their loose, fun and effective play.
Lets hope Green and the others aren’t out too long, but while they are, the others guys suit up to play like they have been.
Go (to Montreal) CAPS

If only Karl Alzner wouldn’t put us over the cap……
Good luck! Definitely so much is coming together so far as planned, but the injury bug biting threatens to derail the effort.
Maybe we get the injuries, as with the long western road trips, out of the way early in the season.
The Caps played a great game, and thankfully the lead was insurmountable as the defense was clearly getting tired at the end being short a man. It was a good effort. Hopefully Green, Mo or Feds will be ready for tonight in LA as an additional d-man.
I love the way the team is going, and that Hershey is doing well too. This bodes well for this season and beyond.
