No More Friends on Facebook

Friday, November 21st, 2008

I have reached the max. I can’t allow any more people into my friends area on Facebook or it will blow up. I am only five folks away from 5,000. It is amazing how virality works on the web. I reached this number in a little more than one year’s time.

So either I have to start deleting folks or NOT take any new friends in. So don’t be offended if you are delisted or if I don’t accept your friend request. Sorry. I wish Facebook would up the number of friends allowed.

A Good and Fair Retort

I will write up a way to improve the All-Star Game. That is a great idea. Thank you.

Ok, I am not that smart so fans, help me to craft a good response. What would you do to improve the NHL All-Star Game? You are all smarter than me. Help.  :-)

Good News from Mobile Posse

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Here is news of an innovative partnership between Alltel and Mobile Posse, a hot young startup here in the DC area.

Working with and through big companies is a smart approach to growing a company in these tough economic times. We are proud to be investors in Mobile Posse and think the mobile marketing category will explode over the coming years.

Schedule

Friday, November 21st, 2008

For many years, Caps fans have been emailing me complaining about our divisional schedule and that we play our division rivals too many times. Eight times a season to be exact.

Also, many NHL fans emailed the league asking to see stars like Alex Ovechkin on the road more frequently.

Hence, the league announced and implemented a new schedule where by we play division rivals only six times per season and our teams now travel and play away and on the road against all teams more often. We also get to see these teams at home more often as well. More balance is what everyone was asking for and more variety.

We all got what we asked for BUT at a price.

We played Anaheim on Wednesday and L.A. on Thursday. So we traveled three time zones on Monday night to get to California; adjust to new time zones; and played back to back games. We play again on Saturday night so three west coast games in four days.

Note: L.A. hadn’t played since Sunday so they were well rested. We are banged up and we played like we were tired. The fans out in LA didn’t see our best. But L.A. will come to Verizon Center soon enough and the tables will turn on the schedule.

We can’t complain. We asked for it and we got it.

It is an honor to get some link love from you. Now how can we convince you to go to SnagFilms.com; snag a widget and show some films on your blog to your growing audience? :-) That act would really help to keep them honest!
