Stay Up Late and Watch the Game

Tonight should be a good test. San Jose has one of the best teams in the league.

I get tired just staying up until 1:00 am every night on this road trip watching the games on TV. Can you imagine playing the games then heading to the airport and flying out when the game ends? Our players work hard for their money.

  1. Ted: They didn’t work very hard last night; it was pretty embarassing against the Sharks. Guys like Clark and Nylander have to step up when other are injured and they have been missing in action. No wonder the Caps didn’t miss a beat last year when they went down for the season. I’ve heard rumours about Nylander to Chicago. I say pull the trigger – he’s not doing anything.

  2. It was a good test. The result? The Caps despite a few injuries, are a long way from being a contender. A mostly AHL defense, sub-par goaltending, an offense relying on one horse. A good little team, at times entertaining, but a long way from a Stanley cup.

  3. The game in Los Angeles seemed especially brutal: for it, an east coast team goes west, plays Anaheim ay 10:00PM local east time while the Kings sit and rest, then plays the next night at 10:30PM local east time. Business travel wears so thin; I wasn’t surprised the players had such little energy. That one seemed to me like the schedule makers had given a distinct advantage to one team over the other (not a complaint, these things happen all the time).

  4. So far, I’ve managed to stay up for all the West Coast games. Thats the plan for tonight as well. LETS GO CAPS!!!

  5. I’ll be up watching. Also – if you post this message early enough – two all time great NHL’ers – Wendel Clark and Patrick Roy are having their jersey’s retired tonight. If you have Center Ice – it will be worth watching.
