The Better Team Won Last Night

We have a long way to go to be one of the best teams in the NHL.

Even though we are shorthanded – playing without Green, Fedorov and Semin - we should have played better than we did last night. Five shots on goal and three goals against aren’t going to cut it against the team with the best record in the league.

Live and learn.

Time to regroup. One more tough game on the road Monday night and then back home to play a few over the holidays. We are humbled and we have work to do.

  1. The defense is shameful – WITH Green, a true, true talent. Without Green? The D is not national league talent. Tyler Sloan on one of the top defensive pairings? Please. Nothing against the player – he’s young and has great potential; but can anyone really see him PLAYING for Detroit (much less on a top pair)? It’s shameful.

  2. The Sharks, right now, are the best the NHL has… whether that stays that way remains to be seen. It wasn’t a good effort by the Caps, but a lot of that was the Sharks imposing their will on the Caps. I’m looking for a rebound in Minnesota tonight.

  3. Very disappointing performance indeed. I was looking forward to this game all week and desperately hoping the team would somehow rise to the occasion and prove their mettle. Now I have to look forward to a season of unmerciful belittling from the San Jose fans I know.
