Wizards Get Younger and Healthier

This is a good trade – on paper.

The back court is upgraded. The teams get experienced scoring; a more youthful back court prospect; and a jolt of new energy.

The team had the lowest scoring back court in the NBA with Gilbert Arenas out. Now it can rack up points and hold the tide until Arenas comes back from injury.

ESPN had this story on its front page yesterday at 2:00 pm. I then received a call from George Bodenheimer, the CEO of ESPN. He is considered the most powerful man in sports. He said he was calling “with no agenda, no reason - just to say hello and thinking of you.”

How great is that? Is that a life and business lesson? A CEO of a company calls just to say hello and talk? No sales pitch. No request. Just a catch up call. It is very classy and quite impressive in this day and age.

  1. Hey Ted-

That is great that George Bodenheimer would reach out to you. I am a fan of Bodenheimers. I think that the sports world, as a whole, will be keeping their eye on Mike James and the positive impact he’s going to have in DC.
