Any union that launches a strike vote referendum right now would be ill-advised. Work it out. Talk it out. Now more than ever, work as a team and in partnership.

Hope Cooler Heads Prevail
Saturday, December 13th, 2008SnagFilms to Help Film Festivals
Saturday, December 13th, 2008Check this story out on indieWIRE. We are doing our best to help indie filmmakers; film festivals; and related charities and causes.
Help us out. Donate some pixels. Snag a film widget and place us on your blog, website or Facebook page. Go to SnagFilms and watch a film. Snag it and embed it. It’s a great thing to do this holiday season.

Can’t Make This Stuff Up
Saturday, December 13th, 2008Most of our day yesterday was spent trying to solve this issue. Who would play backup goaltender for us with Jose Theodore suddenly injured and Brent Johnson also quite sore.
We tried commercial flights and private aircraft but couldn’t get a backup in on time so what did we do?
We turned to our new media expertise and to our web team staff and - voila - our problems were solved. The Internet changes everything and helps to solve all problems. Congratulations Brett. We are all proud of you.
Tables Have Turned
Saturday, December 13th, 2008Ottawa, for many years, had our number and simply dominated us. I remember one game in particular where they beat us 11 to 5 but it felt like a 100 to 1 win for them. They were that good. We couldn’t stop them or slow them down in any manner. They were deep and talented and confident. Our team of brand name players at that time couldn’t respond and wilted under their relentless pressure and system. Ottawa was just confident it could beat us - and they did - time after time.
Even though last season we had great success against them sweeping our series 4 to 0, it wasn’t until last night that I felt that the tables had turned; that they were chasing us; that we were the more confident team; and that we truly expected to win.
Confidence is truly an underestimated factor in success in sports. Overconfidence is dangerous and lacking confidence is a sign of trouble. Believe in your system, coach and each other. When a team exudes confidence, good things happen and wins start to mount up.
