Can’t Make This Stuff Up

Most of our day yesterday was spent trying to solve this issue. Who would play backup goaltender for us with Jose Theodore suddenly injured and Brent Johnson also quite sore.

We tried commercial flights and private aircraft but couldn’t get a backup in on time so what did we do?

We turned to our new media expertise and to our web team staff and – voila - our problems were solved. The Internet changes everything and helps to solve all problems. Congratulations Brett. We are all proud of you.

  1. Brett’s become an international celebrity over the course of 2 days! First Vogs writes about him on Thursday indicating how he helps out at practice, then on Friday…dunno if I believe in coincidence, but this is a great story.

Also a great story is Simeon Varlamov making his NHL debut and beating Montreal. No pressure on the kid, it’s just on Hockey Night in Canada in the hockey Mecca that is Montreal.

    Awesome weekend!

  2. What a great story. It was awesome to see him being interviewed… clearly, he was on cloud 9. Maybe the Caps will bestow a new goalie mask on him for his efforts…. :)

    Congrats Brett!

    LETS GO CAPS!!

  3. Last night, I thought it was very cool when I opened up NHL.com and saw the headline saying something like”web producer suits up as backup goaltender” I thought “I wonder…” and then read the article and said Yay Brett!” I listen to the Capitals report and PreCap all the time, and you get to know a little bit about Mike and Brett through those. I don’t even live anywhere near Washington, just like to read about and follow the team.
