Closure

You may have seen John Walsh at the Caps game last week. He is a fan and friend. We both have homes in Vero Beach, Florida, and we both have known each other for almost 20 years.

It was in Vero Beach that Adam Walsh was found and it is where John and his wife have raised their family. Our families will get together over the holidays and we very much enjoy our time together. He is a good man and a very committed philanthropist.

This news today is really stunning. It represents closure but it opens up so many wounds and so many emotions.

Pray for John and his family. His work has been spectacular for young adults and in protecting families. I pray that this news will get them to some closure over this tragic time in their lives.

  1. My heart ached yesterday for Mr. Walsh and his family. I am a parent of a three year old boy and every day is precious with him. I can’t imagine what these 27 years have been like for him.

He is certainly a role model and every parent should thank him. I know I will if I ever get the chance to meet him.

    Thanks Ted.

  2. It was nice seeing him at the game, and I do hope this brings solace and peace to him and his family.

  3. Its a shame this piece of crap SOB never got what he truly deserved for this crime. After many years in law enforcement I have dealt with his kind before and its not easy. I can tell you it takes alot of restraint to not give them a small portion of what they deserve down a back alley.
I will pray for John and his family. He has done such a tremendous job in the support of law enforcement and for society as a whole. This news will never ease the pain but I hope it will at least allow for some closure.

  4. Very surprising. There is no comprehending the suffering the Walsh family has overcome.
I have met and worked with Mr. Walsh. His efforts provide opportunities for many others to play a part in triumph from tragedy; proof positive that one person can make a difference. – Jeff

  5. Ted, You’re right, Walsh has done great work for 20 years now. As do you, I hope this helps bring closure to a very painful time for John.

Though we know nothing can bring back a beloved child, John Walsh’s continued work to keep this from happening to anyone else’s child is beyond commendable. It’s as noble as it gets.

  6. Please continue to thank John for all that he does for the community, he is a true role model. We all continue to mourn the completely unneccesary loss of Adam, may he continue to rest in peace.
