Do articles like this one and this one seem unseemly at a time like this? Don’t these agents come off like used car salesmen?I have respect for their management skills but there is a time and place for everything. Squeezing every dime out of a club and a city and the fans in this economy just doesn’t sit well with folks right now. Keep your heads held up high. Now is the time to leave a little on the table. Make it up in good will for everyone in all segments. We are all in it together. There doesn’t have to be an ultimate winner and an ultimate loser in every negotiation. I think those days are long gone.

Unseemly
Saturday, December 20th, 2008Thank You
Saturday, December 20th, 2008We can’t let good press get to our head. We need to execute, play hard and earn everything we deserve and we take.
I am grateful for all of the nice words and Tom Boswell is an important opinion maker in our market so thank you for the “monster” column.
We have been delivering on our promises. We have built a team that has great young players at its core and that adds vets from trades and free agency. We have a team that plays with flair and can be good and then great for a long, long time. That is the plan and we are executing on it. But until we win a Stanley Cup, we can’t ever be satisfied as an organization or as a fan base.
Grumpy Old Guys
Saturday, December 20th, 2008How many folks out there would like to see a George McPhee Bobblehead Night?
I can see it now, it trades you or it punches you before you get it opened.
Thanks Thom. We all need to have fun at times like this. We all need enjoyment and belief in better times ahead. Your article here made me smile and we all hope that our fans have a great time and leave smiling after our games.
Iced
Saturday, December 20th, 2008We may have had some back and forth but columns like this one remind me of why a blogosphere is so much fun. Read this one for old time’s sake.
It is well done, well written, well played and just plain funny.
