His best years are his last 2, and he’s right….sometimes its an excuse, in this case its a reason…your team needs to play within its ability, not try and be Detroit w/o Detroits palyers.
When the Caps were rebuilding, Witt spoke openly about a trade away from the Caps so he could play with “a contender”… now look where he is: -5 against the Caps (a contender) and playing for a laughingstock. In the article, he defends (and I use that term as loosely as Witt plays it) his poor and pourous play the other night with, essentially: “it’s the coach’s system”…
