Here we go again - a tough schedule and ten players still out. And just look at the names and the payroll for these players to boot:
- Semin
- Green
- Fedorov
- Clark
- Poti
- Steckel
- Pothier
- Brashear
- Schultz
- Erskine
Ouch. Almost half our payroll and ten starting players were missing in action today at practice.
It’s time to heal and regroup. Tough games are coming like Tuesday on the road. I haven’t experienced anything like this in terms of injuries during our ownership of the team.

ted—stay positive…given all the injuries, the club is doing fantastic…hopefully everyone gets and stays healthy for a run at the cup…in fact when the caps get healthy i belive they are the class of the east.
It’s the test for how tough we are.
Did you ever think it may not be coincidence or bad luck? The training staff and the team’s conditioning must be reviewed because either or both could play a part in this.
The encouraging part of all of this is that we continue to win despite losing so many man games to injury this year. I think that shows the kind of depth this team has.
It’s one thing to stay positive. On the other hand, we could have 20 players out and if we win 1 game that’s not bad. But losing games doesn’t get us to the playoffs.
We need to figure out why these guys keep getting hurt (the ice thing keeps coming up; I have no idea if that caused anything at all) and make sure we’re not putting half injured guys back on the ice (Semin got hurt in the SAME spot he got hurt last time…). Everyone needs to be at 100% before they get back out there in game play because the hits aren’t getting any softer.
Relentless Determination!!! Two words. Take a look at tonights game Caps vs Rangers !!!! I think Coach Boudreau inspires his team, Way to go Caps!!!!!!!
A strong “second” to what Joe said.
