Check out this beautiful film on how music and art can overcome war and pain. The Flute Player is a wonderful piece of work. Thank you PBS.

Hope We are Up for the Scrutiny
Football season is over locally as is baseball season. College football is ending now too.
The NBA is rocking but locally our Wizards are off to a tough start sad to say.
So there is college basketball (Hoya Saxa!) and the NHL with your local franchise, the Washington Capitals.
We are off to a hot start. We have a fun team to watch. In the past, we have asked to get our fair share of media spotlight and now we are in it. I hope we don’t ever have to say, “Be careful what you ask for as you just may get it!”
I expect to see a lot of media covering our team. They will shine the light – warts and all - on us. I hope we are up to the scrutiny and the challenge.
I hope we seize this opportunity to play well and play up to our demanding standards as Coach Brooks said in Miracle, “THIS is our time.” I hope we make the best of it. Go Caps!
