Wow. What a perfect film. Wow. It’s so very powerful; so well acted; and so well crafted. My entire family was stunned by it. It was so moving and so emotional and so tense.
I hardly ever recommend films to my friends but this film is honestly Oscar-worthy. It is a great little film with a superb cast in a venue that reminded me of a part of my childhood. Really, this film was so well done. I only wish I could be associated with a film that was half as good. Bravo.
It’s one of the best written movies I’ve seen in a while, and it’s impossible to go wrong with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Nothing was absolute; everything was very subtle. A great movie on the whole, but I think they could have toned down Streep’s last scene — I HAVE DOUBTS! I HAAAAVVVVVVVVVE DOUUUUUUUUUUBTS!!!!
Her doubt throughout the movie was better manifested through the camera work and her facial expressions. Talk about showing versus telling… Totally redundant.
As I say though — a mighty beast of a script.
