“Hoop Dreams” on Hoop Dreams
A great charity site, HoopDreams.org, snags the Hoop Dreams film widget. Synergy, check it out!
A Good Guy Gets a Nod
This is terrific news for our country. Julius is wicked smart; very dedicated; and very “with it” regarding media and new media. He lives in DC; knows everyone in the space; and is very simpatico with President-Elect Obama.
He will be a great FCC chief, someone who is a next generation media expert. An enlightened choice!
Thank You – Actually We are Now TENTH in Overall Paid Attendance
Here is a nice article on our franchise. The Capitals, according to official NHL reports are now TENTH in the league in paid attendance, with only Detroit, Buffalo, Minnesota and Philadelphia ahead of us for US-based teams.
We have less than 25,000 available tickets to sell for ALL home games for the rest of the season so if you want to come to a game, please buy your tickets now so we can sell out EVERY SINGLE remaining game. Once the tickets are gone, we won’t be able to help you see a Caps game. We are almost out of inventory. Thank you Caps fans!
Thanks Drew
Access is key to build a community and to have the fans fall in love with the franchise. Well done. Check out this blog post here.
Gran Turino
We saw the film this weekend. We liked it but did think it was slow moving and filled with many cinematic clichés.
But Clint Eastwood is a great actor. This may be one of his best performances. He is a brave man to act his age in this film. It is worth seeing a master craftsman at work.
Festival Favorites
Sundance starts this week and here are some Festival Favorites to enjoy if you can’t make it out to Park City. Enjoy these films on SnagFilms.com.
Better and Thank You
Thank you for NOT picking us to win the Stanley Cup. Our team plays best with a chip on its shoulder.
I think SI.com is being fair to us. Read it and let me know what you think.
Humbled
I am not surprised we have lost two in a row. The numbers speak for themselves and we were due for a rash of bad luck; running into a hot goalie; or lack of execution.
Sometimes a few losses are good. It serves as a wake-up call. We aren’t as good as we think we are. We have to always work hard to be productive and we cannot read our own press clippings or worry about individual feats such as All-Star game snubs or other non team related issues.
I knew I had jinxed our performance when I published a very upbeat Owner’s Corner. We haven’t won a game since then.
There are many games left to play this season. We have to work very hard to win our division or just make the playoffs. We have work to do and we know it.
A Great Good Site
Check this out if you want to live “good”. It’s a nice site for all and for our planet.
