A nice bit of press here as we get deep love and respect from Canada. Read it and reap.

7:00pm Tonight
Right before our game against Montreal, you can watch the My Life 365 special, an in-depth interview about the Caps and my ownership of the team.
Comcast SportsNet is doing amazing reporting and production of late. This set of interviews was very well produced and I am deeply flattered to be amongst such great company that has sat for these in-depth profiles. Thank you. Check it out.
Been There Done That
Facebook is retreating from its new terms of service and going back to the older language that so many people felt more comfortable with and had already approved.
This is a good move by Facebook who made a rookie mistake in not taking the roll out of new TOS more seriously. These major moves around consumer data must be transparent to all. Facebook lives its life under a microscope and it could have made this effort more open and more in the light of day.
Having been involved in each of the major TOS updates at AOL over the years, I know firsthand how important the crafting of the language; the spirit and intent of the agreement; and the communications of the new data is to an organization but, more importantly, to its customers.
When you are in the consumer business TRUST is the foundation upon which all commerce is conducted. If a customer doesn’t trust you, they can’t love you.
I see Facebook making lots of mistakes because it operates in its own little bubble. It has many young people who are gifted and talented but inexperienced in key positions. They are NOT historians and really don’t look to see what folks did in past iterations of the web. It is good to be a pioneer but in many cases there are lots of folks who have “been there done that” that could have helped in an instance such as this one.
Live and learn.
Patience is a Virtue
Players develop at their own pace. Sometimes they take to the NHL quickly; sometimes not so fast. Health, psychological make-up and opportunity all play into the mix that make for a successful young career.
Eric Fehr was a very young man when we drafted him, perhaps the youngest player that year in the draft by birth date. He has had many setbacks in terms of injury but now he is healthy. He is getting ice time and he is putting the puck in the net.
Our coaching staff played him a lot in Hershey and knew what he could do. Our scouts had seen him play as a young adult and in the juniors and believed in him. They were always supportive of him.
So we have kept the faith. He is a good kid and a big man with skill and competitiveness. He is getting his chance to shine and he is making the most of it now.
He has added some juice to our line-up. Playing with Fleischmann and Fedorov has created a very dynamic and balanced line together. He isn’t afraid to go to the net. He plays solid D. He will be in our line-up for a long time.
I am proud of the way we have been developing our young players. We haven’t listened to critics and naysayers. We have listened to the staff that we trust. We have shown our loyalty to our own players and they are responding in kind. Go Caps!
1,000 New and Counting
What an amazing day. We sold well more than 1,000 NEW season tickets yesterday for NEXT season. Thank you Caps fans for your confidence in us and for your business.I believe and hope we will enter next season with 14,000 FULL season tickets in the upper bowl; in the lower bowl; and in the suites and club seats.
That would mean we would have about 5,000 seats per game to sell via groups and single tickets and college rush nights. So then I could predict every game could and should be a sell out for next season! That is my personal goal. If you want great seats, buy full season tickets now! That is our message.
A sell out every night; a strong and growing season ticket holder base; TV ratings doubling year over year; we are getting closer to having NHL average ticket pricing. We have Red Outs all of the time and we have a competitive team that shows excellence in its performance year after year!
Go Caps! I am very grateful to you all.
