Odd Game – Take the Two Points and Come on Home

Two talented teams, two talented goaltenders and a truly odd set of circumstances.

We will take goals however we can get them and to win in OT on a slap shot from 70 feet is an amazing way to garner two more points. I thought the game was played tightly and with intensity and passion. It felt like a playoff game. And both goaltenders made amazing saves; played well; and both let in goals that should have been saved. What can you do? It is the NHL and these players such as Chara or Semin or Ovechkin can really bring it.

Our team is playing much better on the road and we continue to play well against the best teams in the NHL. We also increase our lead over Florida and Carolina in the Southeast division. We are now 8 points behind Boston for the Eastern Conference lead as well.

Onward to tomorrow’s game against Florida.

  1. We made the trip from Washington to see what was truly a play-off intensity game. Loved the action and the outcome. I wasn’t thrilled by the post-game comments of Bruins’ coach Julien referring to our team’s chatter. The Caps have traditionally been a hard-working and basically “respectful” team. I hope we’re not getting a reputation for posturing, etc, since we still have much to achieve. The post-game “bump” at center ice was interesting. Is this a regular post-win feature?
