Dan Daly Article
Here is an interesting piece on the Caps and Penguins in the Washington Times.
Time will tell what moves – if any – we make at the trading deadline.
Deadline deals have high risk associated with them. We were sellers for many years and sold off players to teams for high draft picks and prospects. The deals can work but most often the deals do not for the teams that are big buyers at the deadline.
We will tend to stick with our plan. It is working and I see no need to get off course. George McPhee made some great – and smart - deals last trading deadline. We like our team. We won’t do anything “dumb” to take a shortcut and forsake our immediate future for a quick fix today.
Also, I wouldn’t ever disrespect the Penguins. That is a team with world class talent. My prediction is that they play great hockey until season’s end and they make the playoffs and will be very dangerous in the playoffs.
