Excuse the typo there, it should have read: Please feel free to explain how the last two home games (combined score 11-4 against) represents “performing quite well at the right time in the right place”…

And for the record, here’s the problem games the Caps have had recently (“the right time”) in DC (“the right place”) — Ted’s original point.

Feb 5 Los Angeles, LOSS 5-4
Feb 20 Colorado, LOSS 4-1
Feb 26 Atlanta, WIN 4-3 (very uninspired, perhaps even lucky)
Mar 1 Panthers, LOSS 6-2
Mar 3 Hurricanes, LOSS 5-1

In games the Caps should have won with little issue, they have gone 1-4 in the last month with 23 goals against and 11 goals for. That’s playing quite well?

Catalyst, the other games I got my money’s worth. But my point was to Ted’s original comment: “The Capitals are performing quite well at the right time in the right place,” not a commentary on the FULL season to date.

My comment was made after a horrible loss to a “lesser” team — the second in a few days. (And one prior to tonight’s horrific performance against Carolina.)

In the last month, the Caps have lost to: Los Angeles, Colorado, Florida, and Carolina at home. (Note that I’m not mentioning the loss to the Flyers at home; Philly is a solid team, the others simply are not.)

Catalyst (and Ted), I don’t expect every game to be a win but when the team consistently under performs against “lesser” teams and in the middle of such shoddy performances the owner makes the statement: “The Capitals are performing quite well at the right time in the right place,” I call him on it.

Please feel free to explain how the last two homes games (combined score 11-45 against) represents “performing quite well”…

Hey Jeff I’d be happy to take season tickets to the Caps especially lower level ones! I’m a die hard Caps fan that supports them win or lose and have for years!!

Catalyst, you’ve got it figured out. Our home record is very elite. I believe only San Jose has done better.
We’ve got Florida again and we’ll be playing the night before, on the road. Florida will be at home and rested. Let’s see how that one turns out. My guess is it will be very close and not a melt down.

Not today at Verizon Center against Florida. Or a week ago Friday against Colorado. Or Thursday against Atlanta. All were poor performances by the Capitals – and boring nights out.

If the Caps aren’t going to show up for every game, don’t think fans will either. (All those empty seats in the third period today reminded me of the way things were 2-3 years ago. How about you, Ted?)

Today’s game was disgraceful and the third game I’ve attended in the last nine days that wasn’t worth the price of my lower bowl center STH tickets.
