@ Dude

That just happens to be your not very intelligent opinion.

The markets are certainly not a barometer of anything. They just show the emotional reaction of a large number of investors. Since most people aren't very intelligent and can't see past their own nose the market reaction is simply reflecting an opinion of a mob. If you were intelligent you wouldn't be looking at the markets as a barometer of how well Obama is doing.

What he's doing is actually extremely intelligent and far sighted. It will move our economy from temporary spikes and being a bubble to bubble economy and position it for long term growth. The solutions don't work overnight though. That is something people who actually ARE intelligent understand.

As for Cherry, he's a xenophobic, close minded, outdated dinosaur and an attention whore. Who gives a crap about the garbage that comes out of his mouth? He's been saying idiotic stuff about Russian and European players for ages. Had Ovechkin been Canadian he'd be madly in love with him.

I consider Cherry's remarks racist. He is above the call, a strong Canadian nationalist and poses a threat to citizens of any other nation and should not be allowed to leave his home land.

Cherry is a blowhard but change for the sake of change is stupid. It has to be intelligent change. And Obama, so far, isn't looking too intelligent. Ask the markets.

Don Cherry represents the pride of/for the Canadian heartland. I don't see "him" being won over anytime soon.

Overall North American kids just enjoy watching Ovi play. And celebrate.

It'd be interesting to see him at a celebrity golf tournament this summer. The best in golf paired with the best in hockey? Can't think of a more entertaining personality...

Mr. Leonsis: I posted on the Post's blog that I hoped you would defend Alex relative to Don Cherry's comments. I'm glad you came out strongly in Alex's corner. Alex is a breath of new life that the sport needs. May I suggest at an upcoming home game you give away Don Cherry voodoo dolls as a promotion?

Fans will need to supply their own pins.

Cherry's comments on Ovie were off base but his comments about the Red Wings between games were downright xenophobic.

What bothers me about Cherry's comments... if OV was from Canada, Cherry would be praising him up and down - the way he use to talk about Lindros. It really bothers me that people such as Don Cherry do not just enjoy the pure talent OV is and all he has bought to the game. His celebrations are contagious.. it spread through the entire building.. league.. and in every living room where fans like myself are counting their blessing for having the pleasure of watching a true superstar and the talent he possesses. It is unfortunate, when someone gets to the top - there is always someone wanting to knock them down. I hope OV doesn't change a thing!
